Icon congratulates Dr Penny Kechagioglou on RTsafe Board appointment

Icon Cancer Centre congratulates Chief Medical Officer, Dr Penny Kechagioglou, on her appointment to the Board of Directors at RTsafe, a global leader in radiotherapy quality assurance.

Dr Kechagioglou joins the RTsafe Board at a pivotal time for the organisation, as it continues to expand its clinical services and international reach in radiation oncology.

A Consultant Clinical Oncologist and recognised healthcare leader in the UK, Dr Kechagioglou brings extensive experience across clinical leadership, digital innovation, governance and patient-centred cancer care. Her appointment reflects both her individual contribution to advancing oncology practice and the strength of Icon’s growing presence and clinical leadership within the UK.

The milestone also reinforces the strong and evolving relationship between Icon Group and RTsafe. In 2025, Icon adopted RTsafe’s first-to-market PRIME technology across its network, strengthening quality assurance and supporting the safe delivery of complex radiotherapy treatments.

For UK patients and clinical teams, this continued collaboration supports confidence in delivering advanced treatment techniques, underpinned by a shared commitment to safety, precision and innovation.

Dr Kechagioglou said she was proud to join RTsafe at an important stage in the company’s history.

“RTsafe’s mission is closely aligned with what I believe is essential in modern cancer care: safety, precision, innovation, and a deep commitment to patients and clinical teams.”

“I look forward to contributing my experience in oncology, healthcare leadership, and service transformation to support RTsafe’s continued growth and its impact in radiation oncology worldwide.”

Icon looks forward to supporting Dr Kechagioglou in this new role and continuing to work alongside RTsafe to advance high-quality, patient-centred cancer care across the UK and globally.
