Biography
Dr Prantik Das is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in urological cancers, including prostate, bladder and kidney, as well as gastrointestinal cancers such as oesophageal, gastric, pancreatic, liver and colorectal cancers. Prantik has been appointed as our Clinical Lead for the Icon Cancer Care Derby service.
He provides personalised, patient-centred care using advanced radiotherapy techniques and systemic treatments. His expertise includes stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR/SBRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), and image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT).
Dr Das is actively involved in research and innovation and is an executive member of the British Uro-oncology Group (BUG) and a core member of the National Renal Oncology Group and National ECMC Bladder Group. He is an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham and a Principal and Chief Investigator in national and international clinical trials.
Dr Das has been appointed as Clinical Lead for the Icon Cancer Care Derby service. is involved in Icon clinical governance activities, including chairing the stereotactic body radiotherapy multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Dr Das has been highly praised and appreciated by his patients. In 2023 and 2024 he was awarded iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence for delivering outstanding care.
Dr Das is a first author of more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals and also worked as reviewer and editor in international journals. He has also contributed as author of Pocket Guide to Human Tumors and Cancer by CRC press USA.
