Biography
Dr Merina Ahmed is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in lung, lymphoma and skin cancers. She qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, Imperial College London, and has been at The Royal Marsden since 2003. She undertook research in head and neck cancer at The Royal Marsden and The Institute of Cancer Research from 2007 to 2009 and was awarded her MD in 2010, after which she was appointed Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden and St George’s Hospital.
Her clinical practice includes the management of early and advanced lung cancer, radiotherapy for haematological malignancies, and treatment of non-melanoma skin cancers. She has specialist expertise in stereotactic and CyberKnife radiotherapy for lung cancer, lung metastases and other oligometastatic disease, and her research focuses on functional imaging in lung cancer and integrating novel biological therapies with radiotherapy.
